Clyde Fall News

I’d like to welcome everyone to a new season of dance at Class Act Dance Studio.  It is great to see so many new faces as well as our returning students this year.  I sincerely hope that everyone is enjoying their classes. Our teaching staff in Norwalk includes: Karen Stradtman, Ann Marie Meek, Melissa Applegate, Olga Wise, Rebecca Shaffer, and Dana Freeman. These ladies are very dedicated to providing your children with excellent dance instruction.  Please get to know them.  Our student helpers are Courtney Selvey, Tori Nicley, Ashleigh Cress, Emi Bowers, Olivia Hammons, and Sierra Rettenmend.   Alison Schwochow and Becky Massey are our receptionists. They will be glad to answers all your questions.

FUNDRAISERS: We are conducting our fall fundraisers already.  Brochures and candy bars are available for pickup.  Candy bars are $1.00 and dancers receive $20 credit for each box sold.  The candy sale continues until it is all sold.   For the brochure sale, dancers receive 40% credit of their sales.  This year the top three salespersons each receive a $25 gift card.  Fundraiser credit can be used to purchase Class Act merchandise, recital costumes, recital fees, and competition/workshop fees.  To participate in the brochure sale, money and order forms must be turned in by Thursday, October 20^th.  Payment can be made with a postdated check for November 18.  Brochure items will arrive prior to Thanksgiving.

BRING A FRIEND WEEK will be October 10-14. This event is always a lot of fun.  We hope everyone will participate and bring a friend.  We ask that dancers bring only one friend to each class.  When students arrive with their friend, they need to stop at the desk, sign in, and turn in their invitation form. 

PARENT VISITATION is Oct. 3-6 in Studio A (big room) and Oct. 9-12 in studio B (small room). There will be no visitation in November.  Parent visitation weeks are listed on the yearly calendar, which is attached.

PAYMENTS: If you are paying by the year, payments must be either cash or check (sorry, no credit card).  Year payments and first month’s payments are due September 30. 

REMINDERS

1. Put your name inside your dance shoes and dance bag.
2. Do not leave valuable items (iPods, money, etc.) unattended in the waiting room.  
3. Always come to class looking like a dancer. A leotard is required in all classes. Long hair should be worn in a bun or ponytail.
4. No jewelry in acrobat class and please, no gum in the studio.       
5. Take home personal items each week.  We cannot be responsible   for items left behind.

RECITAL COSTUMES:  I know it seems a bit early to mention this, but recital costume payments are due the week of December 8^th.  There will be more information on this later.  I want to mention this now so all our new families would know that costumes are ordered in December. 

RECTIAL DVDS:  See Alison/Becky if you have not picked up your recital DVD.  We have a few extras for sale.

WEBSITE:  Be sure you are signed up on our website, www.theclassactdancestudio.com, to receive alerts and newsletters. I also try to post calendar items on our Facebook page, but I must admit, I find little time for social networking.  Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions throughout the year.
